AI Computer Vision Intern

Remote
Internship
Student (College)

Role Description

Beno Technologies invites passionate and talented individuals to join our dynamic internship program focused on experimentation and exploration projects. In our engineering culture, experimentation is a driving force, empowering us to push the boundaries of what is achievable. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in helping the Beno Engineering team select the most effective tools and technologies, enhance our efficiency, and bolster our product competitiveness.

We are actively seeking recent software graduates or practitioners with a strong curiosity and a knack for exploring new tools, technologies, or libraries from both commercial and open-source software realms. The project for this internship is a continuation of an existing Computer Vision initiative focused on Car Damage Detection. Your role will involve exploring existing models, fine-tuning them, and enhancing their accuracy to enable the AI model to effectively detect damages in images of cars.

Who We're Looking For

We are on the lookout for candidates currently enrolled in a postgraduate program in computer science, applied mathematics, data science, or a related field. If you thrive in solving technical challenges, are passionate about hands-on work, and have a track record of leading your team in university or bootcamp projects, you've found the right opportunity.

As a graduate intern, we expect you to possess robust research and analytical skills with a genuine interest in AI and data science. The ability to prototype apps (web, mobile, or CLI) is required, and this may necessitate knowledge of languages such as Java, C++, Python, Kotlin, SQL, or TypeScript. We welcome a diverse range of skills, including but not limited to Prompt Engineering, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning.

Beyond technical skills, ideal candidates should exhibit a high level of self-organization and openness to suggestions and guidance from the team. At the conclusion of the internship, you will be required to document and present your work, making excellent writing and presentation skills invaluable.

Our internship program typically spans short durations (5 to 6 weeks), but we are open to extensions and potential collaborative research aligned with academic goals with universities.

Benefits

Our robust mentoring approach has significantly benefited past interns, paving the way for them to secure full-time positions, including roles within our engineering team. Former interns consistently recommend our program to their peers, with many showcasing their experiences on LinkedIn.

While we do not provide compensation for short internships, outstanding performance during an extended internship may lead to compensation after internal approvals. Recent internship projects have involved contributing to open-source initiatives, providing candidates with tangible and referable contributions that can significantly enhance their careers.

Our internship will be fully remote; in rare cases, we might require field visits for some studies. This is rare and highly dependent on the nature of the project. For example, a project might require visiting our car rental warehouse to conduct studies or collect images of cars as input to our study. In case the university requires in-person attendance, we can accommodate this (subject to availability).
